RainbowFlag.gif (744 bytes)  A Special Welcome to Gays and Lesbians

Need a break from the city and tired of the same old Provincetown or Fire Island getaway?  Northern Lights Lodge is the largest gay owned and operated inn in the state of Vermont, and your host Al Holzgruber extends a special welcome to fellow gays and lesbians to stay at his lodge when in Stowe.  Our guests are straight and gay, families, couples, singles and groups - all are welcome!

Stowe is the perfect place to get away, to reconnect with nature and clear your mind with the fresh mountain air, and yet have a nice choice of decent dining, shopping and antique hunting opportunites.  Okay, no stereotyping here...the skiing in winter is superb, and the summer offers many hiking trails and the paved Stowe Recreation path for cycling, rollerblading, or just a great nature walk with beautiful river and mountain views.

Whether it's a romantic getaway with your lover, time together with a special group of friends or even some time on your own just to have a break, Northern Lights Lodge could be the place for you.  Stowe is a perfect location to arrange a rendezvous with friends all over New England and other northeast states, and Quebec and Ontario.  Just let us know and we'll make every effort to make your visit here special.

RainbowFlag.gif (744 bytes)  About Civil Unions

Vermont's breakthrough Civil Union legislation enacted in July 2001, offers essentially identical spousal rights to same-sex couples as they do to opposite-sex couples who are legally married. It continues to only carry legal weight in the state of Vermont, but continues to be popular with out-of-state couples because it is the most legally recognized in the United States.

Northern Lights Lodge is the perfect location to hold your Civil Union.  Innkeeper Al Holzgruber has over 20 years experience as an event planner, and can coordinate all the details to make your day more special and stress-free.   We have several great on-site locations for your ceremony, including a gazebo in the woods, a riverside park area and beautiful perennial garden areas.  If you're planning on a larger event, we do have a large banquet hall that can seat up to 180, and can either cater your event or work with your caterer.  And with 50 rooms, we have the room to house your guests without concerns about drinking and driving.
