At Northern Lights Lodge we do everything we can to make all of our guests as comfortable as possible.   Our Lodge pre-dates accessibility building codes and wasn't necessarily designed with accessibility in mind, but we have done everything we can to try to make the building more accessible.

Our Accessible Deluxe Rooms with 1 king bed are located in the main building.  These rooms have oversized bathrooms to allow extra room to turn a wheelchair around in.  The bathrooms have a toilet with a grab bars, and a combination tub/shower with grab bars and a handheld shower head.   A transfer bench is available for the bathroom upon request.   To reach the room, you will need to travel across a compacted gravel driveway and sidewalk and through a hallway.   All of the doors have an opening of at least 32 inches.

In order to travel between our Accessible Deluxe Rooms and the lobby, lounge, and pool, you would need to go up/down about 10 stairs, which can be problematic for guests with wheelchairs or walkers.   To travel via wheelchair, you would need to go outdoors and travel across gravel driveways and parking lots.  Most of our guests in wheelchairs choose to use their vehicles to drive from the entry door closest to their room to the front entrance by the lobby.   We are glad to deliver breakfast to your room if you have medical conditions that make traveling between your room and the lounge inconvenient.

We had planned to install an ADA pool lift in spring 2020, but these plans were delayed by the pandemic.  We now plan to have it installed by winter 2022.

We hope this has helped to answer any questions that you have about accessibility at our Lodge, but if there's something we missed, please feel free to give us a call at 802-253-8541 and we will do everything we can to answer your questions.
